Oh, Canada...

For those of you who missed it last Thursday, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper was successful in proroguing Canadian Parliament to prevent them from holding a vote of confidence against him today. It's kind of like if President Bush were to send Congress into recess because they were to start impeachment hearings (not exactly the same thing for a couple minor differences).

This is absolute insanity! What kind of a democracy allows this to happen?
