Decision 2012: Intro

Today marks the official start of the 2012 presidential election season as voters in Iowa vote for who they think the Republican nominee should be. Over the next several months leading up to the general election in November, I hope to blog more regularly about important issues that have come up in the past few years as my personal reminder for when I step into the voting booth this fall.

The plan is to post every other week and to touch upon the following issues:

  • Respecting human life and dignity
  • Conscience protection and religious liberties
  • Protecting the sanctity of marriage
  • Economic crisis & public debt
  • Comprehensive immigration reform
  • War on Terrorism (and violence in the Middle East)
This is not to say that these are the only issues that matter, because there are definitely other issues to consider (such as education, responsible media, adapting to climate change, environmental protection, international aid, overcoming discrimination, etc.), but the above issues are ones that appear to have become more urgent to examine in light of events over the past few years.
